LaLa's Lounge, located at 25 Bayview Ave. in Bay Shore, opened in May.

The eatery that was formerly known as "Swept Away" was rebranded to create a relaxed and casual atmosphere, as Bay Shore already has many great down-by-the-waterfront restaurants, said Andy Tartaglia, who operates the restaurant with Leah Fernandes and Kevin Breeden.

“[The building] has been a part of the community for a long time and it’s ebbed and flowed sort of," he said. "It was recently not being fully utilized and enjoyed. The community response from our immediate neighbors has been great. Those folks love the new outlet and the new concepts."

The eatery offers a selection of burgers, quesadillas, tacos, and appetizers, such as ceviche and fried calamari.

Online reviewers have already praised the rebranded restaurant.

"I think Lala's Lounge is an absolutely fantastic addition to Bay Shore," Rebecca M., of Lindenhurst, said in a Yelp review. "As soon as I walked in I loved the vibe of this place, very light, earthy, beach feel to it."

The restaurant's drink menu includes house cocktails, along with frozen drinks like the frozen espresso martini and strawberry daiquiri.

"Went to Lala's for the first time with two friends and let me tell you, we will be back! We had the nachos and my friend had the chicken sandwich," Jennifer G., of Huntington Station, said in a Yelp review. "Portions were huge and everything was absolutely delicious.

"The atmosphere is such a vibe, we got to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The frozen drinks are to die for and the manager Justin made us feel right at home."
